Total level 2 → 9:
113 million Elixir and 67 days of base Laboratory time.
Electro Dragon targets any building and fires chain lightning. After the first target, the strike can jump to up to four additional nearby targets. Each successive jump deals 20% less damage than the preceding hit. Keep connected buildings within range when attacking; spread them out when defending.
Its slow attack and movement speed make timing important. Use the first strike to remove a high-value group, then protect the Electro Dragons while they travel to their next target.
The first strike deals full damage to its target. It can then chain to up to four additional eligible targets, losing 20% of the preceding hit on each jump. The strongest chain occurs when several high-value buildings are close together.
In a base layout, leave enough separation between defenses and key structures that the lightning cannot continue through the compartment.
Practical rule: set the intended entry so the initial strike starts near buildings that offer a useful chain path.
Start with a funnel so the Electro Dragons enter through the part of the base where chain lightning can reach several defenses. A Grand Warden in air mode supports the push, while Rage Spells help the army pass through high-hitpoint compartments.
Plan around the air sweepers before deploying. Do not place the entire army in one corner, because pathing can split and reduce the value of the chain lightning.
Focus on funneling and removing Air Defenses. Dragon’s high HP, flight and splash make it strong at these Town Hall levels, but a split army loses damage quickly.
Air Sweepers, stronger air defenses and traps make entry direction more important. Dragon level 7 at TH12 also unlocks Super Dragon.
Use Heroes and Siege Machines to clear the edges and create a direct route into the base.
Levels 11, 12 and 13 add more damage and hitpoints, while heavier anti-air coverage makes funneling and spell timing more important.
Space key buildings so chain lightning cannot continue through a dense cluster. Air Sweepers can push Electro Dragons away from their next target, and air defenses should cover likely entry lines.
A defending Electro Dragon can punish groups of weaker air troops. Use it in the Clan Castle when its chain targets and death lightning can create a costly path for an attacker.
A defending Dragon attacks both ground and air troops and deals splash damage. Grouped low-HP troops can disappear quickly if the Clan Castle is not handled before the main push.
| Troop | When to choose it |
|---|---|
| Electro Dragon | Use when buildings are close enough for chain lightning and a high-housing-space air push suits the plan. |
| Dragon | Use when faster, lower-housing-space air units give cleaner pathing and broader deployment options. |
Electro Dragon gains visible changes as it levels, while levels 1–3 keep the same core design and grow in size.
